<p>Varzim Sport Club, founded on Christmas Day 1915, bought the land at Alto de Martim Vaz in 1932 and inaugurated their ground on 13 September that year.</p><p>Capacity is 7,280. A proposed new stadium in the Parque da Cidade was abandoned after repeated delays, and in March 2018 the members voted instead to remodel the existing ground and build a training centre.</p><p>It stands close to the sea in Póvoa de Varzim, north of Porto.</p>
