Chris Willock was born in Waltham Forest on 31 January 1998 and came through Arsenal's academy before joining Benfica in the summer of 2017 in search of first-team football. He played predominantly for the B side in the Portuguese second division, a quick and technical wide forward who could also operate behind the striker.

He made only a handful of senior appearances and spent loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Huddersfield Town. He was registered with the club for the 2019-20 season before joining Queens Park Rangers permanently in October 2020, where he became a regular over four seasons.

He moved to Cardiff City in July 2024.
