About the Club
Bournemouth were founded in 1899 as Boscombe FC and have played at Dean Court, now the Vitality Stadium, since 1910. The ground holds only about 11,300, the smallest in the Premier League when the club is in it.
For most of their history Bournemouth were a third and fourth division club. Under Eddie Howe they rose from the brink of relegation out of the Football League in 2009 to the Premier League in 2015, a climb without real parallel in English football.
The club's only major honours are lower-division championships and the Football League Trophy in 1984.
