Born in Aveiro, the winger was schooled at FC Porto, where he spent nine years, before a season at Famalicão preceded his move to the Benfica academy on 21 June 2022.

His progress was rewarded step by step: on 9 May 2023 he extended his contract and was promoted to the Under-23s, and on 9 December 2024 he signed fresh terms and stepped up to Benfica B, going on to make more than twenty appearances in Liga Portugal 2.

Rêgo made his first-team debut on 21 November 2025 in a 2-0 Taça de Portugal win over Atlético CP, a display that earned him the man-of-the-match award. He added further senior outings before leaving the Estádio da Luz on 1 July 2026 to sign a five-year contract with Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, who loaned him to Segunda División side CD Castellón for the 2026-27 season.

He has also represented Portugal at Under-17 level.
