Born in Castro Daire, the midfielder took his first steps at O Castro and Académico de Viseu before the Benfica scouting network brought him to the Caixa Futebol Campus, where he signed a trainee contract on 23 November 2020.

Freitas put pen to his first professional deal on 4 November 2022 and, on 3 April 2025, extended his commitment to the club until 2029 while being promoted to Benfica B.

His senior debut came on the biggest stage of all: on 10 December 2025 he was introduced as a substitute in a 2-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Napoli.

A consistent presence in Portugal's youth ranks, he has been capped at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level.
