Born in Geneva to a Turkish father and a Tunisian mother, Zeki Amdouni worked his way up through Swiss football with Étoile Carouge, Stade Lausanne Ouchy and Lausanne-Sport before a productive season at Basel earned him a move to Burnley in 2023. He arrived at Benfica on a season-long loan in August 2024.

A tall, right-footed centre-forward, he is comfortable dropping off the front line into a second-striker or attacking midfield role as well as leading the attack.

In 2024/25 he was used mainly from the bench, making 24 Primeira Liga appearances of which only nine were starts, yet still returned seven league goals. He scored his first for the club in a 5-1 win over Gil Vicente in September and featured in all four competitions, including the Champions League, before returning to Burnley at the end of the loan.

He is a Switzerland international and was part of their Euro 2024 squad.
