Rosenborg Ballklub was founded in 1917 as Sportsklubben Odd and took its present name in 1928, representing the city of Trondheim from the 21,426-capacity Lerkendal Stadion. Playing in white shirts and black shorts, it is comfortably the most successful club in Norway with more than twenty Eliteserien titles. Rosenborg reached the Champions League quarter-finals in 1997.
