About the Club
Legia Warszawa were founded in 1916 as a club of the Polish Legions and later became the army side, which is the origin of the nickname Wojskowi. They play at the Stadion Wojska Polskiego, rebuilt in 2010.
Legia have won the Polish championship more than fifteen times and the Polish Cup on a record number of occasions. The club reached the European Cup semi-final in 1970 and the Cup Winners' Cup semi-final in 1991.
Its support is among the largest and most vocal in central Europe, and the rivalry with Wisła Kraków is one of the most hostile in the game.
