Club León were founded in 1944 in the Guanajuato city of León and play in green at the Estadio León, known as the Nou Camp.
The club has won the Mexican championship eight times, the most recent in the Guardianes tournament of 2020, and took the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 2023, which qualified it for the FIFA Club World Cup. Its nickname, La Fiera, means the wild beast.
