Jose Gomes, generally known as Ze Gomes, is a forward born in Bissau who joined Benfica's academy in 2012. He made his Benfica B debut in 2016/17 and his first-team debut in September 2016, at the time the third-youngest player to appear for the senior side. He spent much of the following years on loan, including spells at Portimonense and Lechia Gdansk, before leaving Portugal for clubs in Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Cyprus and Albania.
