Loris Benito, listed in Portugal simply as Benito, is a Swiss defender born in Aarau on 7 January 1992. He came through and made his name at FC Aarau before joining FC Zurich in 2012. Benfica signed him in June 2014 on a five-year contract for around 2.5 million euros; he made his competitive debut in the Taca de Portugal in October 2014 and his league debut that December, but he was used sparingly and also turned out for Benfica B. After a single season in Lisbon he returned to Switzerland with Young Boys in June 2015. He is normally deployed at left-back but can also play centre-back.
