Born in Lisbon into a footballing family - his brothers Zidane, a Guinea-Bissau international, and Figo are also professionals - the right-back started out at Real SC before joining the Benfica academy in 2018.

Banjaqui made his senior debut on 17 December 2025, coming off the bench in the closing minutes of a 2-0 win over Farense, and started his first Primeira Liga match on 25 January 2026 against Estrela da Amadora, where he provided an assist. On 2 April 2026 he committed his future to the club by extending his contract until 2031.

With Portugal he won both the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and the 2025 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, starting six of the eight matches at the latter and being named in the Team of the Tournament at the European finals.
